Hello!

I hope everyone is keeping well and safe in these challenging times.

Here at the Student Television Alumni Network (STAN) we have been busy working behind the scenes, on our own projects and providing assistance for the National Student Television Association Awards and Conference.

Our most recent update, is the launch of this brand new website and LinkedIn page, which we will continue to update with useful resources and information for Student TV Alumni.

Whilst we work to continue to update this website, here's a few highlights over the last few years - We continue to work with the National Student Television Association to provide Alumni to help with the Conference and Awards, and other opportunities such as the recent Student Opportunities Festival.

As the STAN Committee, we have delivered sessions from CV Workshops to panels on Engineering, Multimedia and Content, Supply and Distribution as well as sessions from our inspiring NaSTA Alumni.

We also judge the 'Freshers TV' category at the Awards, and seek other Alumni for the wide range of categories. This continued in 2020, where we aimed to deliver a mix of conference sessions, as well as a Networking Event for both current students and alumni and will be continuing to work with the conference team over the next year for the rescheduled events.

We have also been looking at the recent applications for the NaSTA Fellowship - of which the announcement ties in with the National Student TV Conference and Awards and will be announced very soon.

Thank you to everyone who submitted a nomination! Pre-covid, we hosted a range of socials across the country and now have transitioned over to virtual quiz nights. As the first one was a great success, we will continue to do them going forward as it's a fantastic way to connect throughout the country.

Congratulations to our last quiz winner - Jonathan Bufton!

Lastly, we had talked previously about hosting a STAN 'Careers Event' which is still very much a priority when government guidelines permit us to so, and we will be looking to collaborate with a Student TV Station to do this.

So there's an update and our plans, some of which have been halted by the current situation but we are continuously working on new ways to engage our talented Alumni, so if you have any thoughts please contact us on alumni@nasta.tv.
