It’s been a month since the wonderful 50th NaSTA Awards hosted by the team at Creative Capital at Ravensbourne University. The team put on a weekend to remember kicking off with a boat party on the Friday (how things have changed since our days of humble barbecues!), followed by a jam-packed conference on Saturday. Fortunately Sunday's are now reserved for a 'morning after' show rather than an AGM...
It was an honour for the STAN committee to go along, having judged the Best Event Coverage, and to see first-hand how student television is thriving. The calibre of entries was incredibly high, but for us, UBTV’s Trashion Show coverage was a fun, well-edited entry that was hugely deserving of the Gold Award.
Massive congratulations also go to Durham University's PalTV, who not only won Best Broadcaster for the second year in a row, but also in only their second year as a station!
We also had the opportunity to take part in the (we think the first ever?) trade show at a NaSTA Conference. Along with a number of businesses - some of which have been founded by Alumni, like Limitless Broadcast - we were able to meet alumni and soon-to-be-graduates. Not to mention, we got to show off our brand new banner and pens!
